Tired Friday

It's never good to be tired while operating an oven/stove top.
I had no choice though because that is my job.
I made faces at myself in the mirror this morning hoping it would trick my brain into thinking I was awake and energetic.
Eh, it didn't work.

Sleepily I slumped around the kitchen at work trying to be efficient.
I dropped toast on the floor and spilled a cup of milk in a class room.
I made 50 extra chicken nuggets... oppsie
and I accidently poured boiling water down my leg.
I was hopping around and thinking "take your pants off, hurry take 'em off!"
But of course I didn't.
I would get sued for indecent exposure.
Good thing I said my prayers this morning, because luckily I didn't get any sever burn marks on my thighs .
I REALLY wanted to go ask the director if I could go home after that.
"I'm sorry I just scalded my legs and probably have family of blisters living on my delicate skin. Can I go home, I'm an idiot!"
But I didn't because I needed to be responsible and do my time.

All the mishaps I had today were minor and not very funny compared to my last incident.
I was cleaning the kitchen and I was SO happy to be heading home.
Without thinking I grabbed the cleaning can and started spraying the three compartment sink.
I noticed the scrubbing bubbles weren't foaming up.
They looked really odd.
I check the label on the can and in bright red letters it said PAM.
I tried washing the sinks with cooking oil!!
EEEKKK!
Um.... they. really. shine. now... ;) haa

My sister came home for the summer today.
We ended the day with backyard baseball and smores.
Second base was a blanket.
Pretty much it was huge and like 4 feet wide.
Brett's friends would come play a few innings and then leave and come back again, so on and so forth.
Basically I am telling you we are really cool so people like to hang out with us.
Haaa.
Yep!

Happy Memorial Weekend to you and your kin :)

My Dancing Feet

The other day I was thinking about my favorite things about being home.
High up on the list was having a kitchen.
A real live kitchen.
A place where meals can be cooked and laughter shared...
But that is not my favorite part about a kitchen.

My favorite part about it is it's a place for my dancing feet to feel the floor, move, and discover.
To my heart a kitchen will always be first and foremost a dancing place and second it will be a place to cook.
Most of my best dancing comes out when I'm home alone moving across that wood floor.
I turn up the music full blast and before I know it I'm twirling and spinning across the room and through out the entire house.
I jump, spin, melt, flow, thrash, float, fall.... just feel the music.

I had a great dance shesh this morning while I was waiting to go to work :)

Oh ps I had all these thoughts and then a few days after I got on pintrest and saw something similar.
Grrr these are MY original thoughts NOT inspired by pintrest but my REAL life,
so I'm going to take credit :)
That's all.
I'm off to dance a little more until it's time to "work work pay the rent, money and my time spent!"
Those are some lyrics from a Kenny Chesney song for all y'all who didn't catch that :)

Can Opener

That's my job and that's what I do.
I have officially mastered the art of can opening.
Cough, cough... that's a lie.
I sliced my finger open today, so in fact, I have mastered the art of finger opening.
Coolio Eh?

Today was spaghettio's day.
A large pot of the junk sat on a hot burner for two hours... I had to keep it toasty warm for all the chillens.
The end result was a spaghettio pancake a half inch thick burned to the bottom of the pot!
What a flippin disaster.
BOOOOO spagettios.

All day kids would walk by the kitchen with their noses plugged and say "something stinks!"
I was just thinking Muhahahah Yeah you have to eat this stinky pinky crap!
I laughed out loud every time that happen.
FYI burned spaghettio's wreak like havoc!

Karma came and nipped me in the butt... apparently it's not nice to make little people aka children eat food a cat wouldn't even dare touch...
I heard the director on the phone "oh you need the cans from the spaghettio's..."
Haaa those are at the bottom of the garbage can. Have fun diggin!
Next thing I know... "Tami can you get the cans...."
You know how the story ends.
I had to dig through the garbage FULL of uneaten spaghettio's to get some tin.

AND another random thought.
What the heck is apple sauce?
It's baby food marketed towards old people.
No joke.
Baby food is always pureed.
If someone tried to sell you pea sauce, just pureed peas, you would not buy it.
Oh but pureed apples are ok?
Anyway I think apple sauce is gross.
That's all.

Working at the day care is bomb.

Clay Walker

Clay Walker came to town May 12.
I bought two tickets and treated my mama to a night on the town for Mother's Day.
The show was a benefit concert for children with hearing loss.
They told us a lot about the cause and it really touched me.
I thought it was so great how willing people are to help up others.
My mom and I had the worst seats in the crowd, BUT not for long.
We made our way up to the front of the stage.
We had a blast and honestly I have to coolest mom EVER!
We rocked out and my mom even went crazy trying to get a pick for me, because she knew I really wanted one.
She got it too, but then this meany pants girl stole it right out of her hand.

I pointed at Clay Walker and he pointed back and tipped his hat to me.
Yes I flipped.
AHHHH it was great.
He was awesome and sexy.
My favorite song that he did was Fall.
The crowd sand the words and I was swept away by the music.

He did something he said he's never done before.
He would pick on someone in the crowd and let them choose the next song he would sing.
Sometimes he'd laugh and ask if we were sure we wanted to hear that song because he hadn't done it for so long, but he did them all regardless and they were all wonderful.

My mom and I stayed after the show for a little while.
When the band was cleaning the stage up I asked the guitarist if I could have a pick.
He was so nice and he got me one.
God bless that man.
It made me incredibly happy!

Home Sweet Home

When ever I come home my schedule seems to go crazy.
There are always so many people to see and things to do!
I started my summer job.
It's great and for those of you who know my cooking past it's quite hilarious because I am in fact....
Drum roll please...
The cook at the day care I worked at last summer!

Oh but there is a catch to me working there.
So my first day was Monday, and I like to walk to work.
I woke up early that morning so I would have plenty of time for my morning stroll to Skool Days.
I showed up with a few minutes to spare.
I walked in the door and said good morning and asked if I was training with Stephanie in the kitchen.
The lady who works at the front desk informed me that Stephanie worked at the Draper center, not Riverton.

Normally this would freak me out and I would be a stressed out mess.
I HATE being late to things.
Not to mention I knew I didn't have a car to get to Draper.
But normal didn't happen.
I stayed really calm, cool, and collected.
Trust me that is very weird for me.
I held myself together and called my mom.
She was half way to Orem and had no way of coming home to take me to work.
I thought popped into my mind to call someone in the ward, so I asked my mom who to call.
I called the person my mom suggested to me, and luckily she was able to give me a lift to work.
I felt so much relief and I wasn't upset or flustered at all.
My first day of work went very smoothly after that.

I get an hour lunch break every day.
I found a quiet park to eat at and read my book.
There are always two ducks there that join me.
I tried getting a picture of them on Thursday.
I started army crawling towards them so the wouldn't get spooked and waddle away.
As I was doing this my face was very close to the ground and I noticed bird poop everywhere!
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
EW EW EW!!
Needless to say I am working on finding a new lunch spot.

Friday was the best day at work yet.
I walked in and there was a lady there with a huge bouquet of roses.
She told me I could take one because Mother's Day was around the corner and I watch kids all day so I deserved one.
I know it's weird but I LOVE IT when I randomly receive roses.
It just makes me feel pretty and womanly and like I was being noticed for the things I do.
So that was an amazing way to start the day.
It only got better from there.
Parents brought in cupcakes, apples, chocolates, and cheesecake bites for all the employees as a thank you for all our hard work.
I just kept getting happier and happier and THEN Shelly gave us all water bottles.
All these actions were small things but they meant a lot to me and made me feel amazing.

The first Sunday I had home we took my sister to the airport to go back to Chicago.
Afterwards we walked around temple square and took lots of wonderful pictures.

So many things have happened since I've been home.
This is just a small recap.
I love the people that I've seen and been able to catch up with!

Bitter Sweet

I'm excited to go home.
I can't wait to spend summer with my family.
But... all of a sudden I'm realizing how much I'm going to miss the people I've met here in Cedar.

I don't ever wanna forget the laughs, the late nights, the good times.
I want to remember everything vividly.
I love the experiences I've had here and the people I have had them with.

It's weird how you can grow to love people so much in such a short time.
I'm so grateful that my parents have helped me to be here at SUU.
I'm grateful for the friendships I've made here.

Growing up is hard.
I always thought saying hello to someone for the first time was hard.
You never know how they are going to react or if it will be awkward.
I was very wrong, saying hello is nothing compared to goodbye.
Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things in life.
Loving people and having to leave them is difficult.
Yet, it's so exciting because everyone has something they want to do in life and they are pursuing it.
That is the best part of life I think, having something you're passionate about and chasing it.

A lot of my best friends are leaving on missions this summer.
I'm so excited for them.
I know they are going to have one of the best experiences of their lives.

I wish the best for my friends.
As Brad Paisley would put it:
"I know you need to go
But before you do
I want you to know...
that I wish you the best
and I wish you nothing less than everything you've ever dreamed of
and I hope that you find love along the way
but most of all I wish you'd stay."

and as Jason Aldean says:
"Let's not say goodbye.
I hate the way that sounds.
So for now let's just say see you when I see you.
Another place some other time.
If I get down to your way,
or if you're ever up around mine,
we'll laugh about the old days and catch up on the new.
Yeah I'll see you when I see you
and I hope it's someday real soon."

I love everyone I've met here in good ol' C-city and I'll remember you forever.
Take luck with you!
:)

Final Freshmen Adventures

My Agriculture final was yesterday.
It was easy but incredibly frightening.
I had to ride a horse!!
AHHHH!

I had already done the majority  of my packing... which means I packed all my shoes.
All I left out was flip flops.
I was getting ready to go to my final when I realized this predicament.
You can't ride a horse in flip flops...
So I had to borrow some of Kenzie's shoes.

I have tiny feet.
I was swimming in those vans.
But at least they weren't sandals.
I felt like Sasquatch.
Right after my final I had to go to the library to work on my comm final speech.
...Still wearing the clown shoes.
I traipsed all around campus like that.
It was great and I just chuckled at my self as the shoes slapped the ground.

Yesterday Mark and Chris took Kenz and I rock climbing...
OUTSIDE!
Coolest thing evER!!
We had a blast.
I made it to the top of the 4o foot cliff.
Now I just need to find me some rock climbing buddies for the summer...
hmmmm.
Any takers? :)

On our rock climbing escapade we found bones.
A lot of bones.
I was freakin out, I thought we stumbled upon a murder.
Lucky day for  me, they were just animal bones... or so said Mark.
Who knows what to believe!
Not I!

I took my stats final today...
I think I aced it.
WOOO!
Done cleaning.
Done packing.
The only thing left to do is parTAY til my parents come to whisk me away from this place.
